KWACCIMA CONDEMNS BRUTAL ATTACK IN WORO COMMUNITY, EXPRESSES DEEP SYMPATHY WITH KWARA STATE GOVERNMENT AND AFFECTED FAMILIES
Ilorin, Monday 9th February, 2026
The Kwara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KWACCIMA), expresses its profound sorrow and heartfelt condolences to the Kwara State Government, the Executive Chairman of Kaiama Local Government Council, and most especially the good people of Woro Community in Kaiama Local Government Area over the horrific and senseless attack carried out by bandits, which led to the loss of many innocent lives and the destruction of homes and livelihoods.
KWACCIMA is deeply pained by the brutal massacre of law-abiding citizens and the burning of houses in Woro Community. This barbaric act is not only an attack on the people of Woro, but an assault on peace, humanity, and the collective conscience of our society.
We stand in solidarity with the grieving families who have lost loved ones, homes, and sources of livelihood. No words can adequately capture the anguish and trauma this tragedy has inflicted on the community. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, the injured, and all residents who are now displaced and living in fear.
KWACCIMA commends the swift response and commitment of the Kwara State Government and the Kaiama Local Government Council in addressing the situation and working to restore calm and security in the affected area. We urge security agencies to intensify their efforts to ensure that the perpetrators of this heinous crime are brought to justice and that lasting security is restored to Woro Community and other vulnerable areas of the State.
As a body committed to economic growth, community development, and social stability, KWACCIMA emphasizes that peace and security are fundamental to development. We therefore call on all stakeholders—government at all levels, security agencies, traditional institutions, and community leaders—to work collaboratively to prevent a recurrence of such tragic incidents.
KWACCIMA also appeals for urgent humanitarian assistance for the displaced residents of Woro Community, particularly women, children, and the elderly, who are currently in dire need of shelter, food, and medical care.
We pray that the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace and that God grants the bereaved families and the entire Woro Community the strength to endure this painful loss.
