LOCATION

Kwara State is situated between parallel 11'20 and 11'450 north latitude. It is also sandwiched between the northern and the southern parts of Nigeria.

The landscape is generally undulating, interspersed with scattered hills. The major rivers in Kwara State include the Niger, which forms the natural boundary of the State in the North. Other rivers are Wessa, Moshi, Teshi, Oyun and Oshin, all tributaries of the Niger River.

The climate of the State is characterized by both the wet and dry seasons each lasting about six months. The total rainfall ranges from 1,200mm in the Northwest to 1,500mm in the Southeast. The mean temperature in the most parts of the State is about 320c.

The natural vegetation comprises Guinea Savannah, derived Savannah and rain forest. The Guinea Savannah predominates in the Northern parts of the State, while the derived Savannah and Rain forest are features of the Southern part.

Given that the quantum of opportunities for business is a reflection of the location and amount of resources available, Kwara State can best be described as the ideal for every potential investor.

The prevailing serenity and hospitality of its people is why Kwara is commonly referred to as the STATE OF HARMONY – an Investor's Haven.
